| Ultimate Security liaise closely with the City of London Police in their fight to counter terrorist activities, and in particular the Counter Terrorist Section. We are involved in a number of initiatives set up by the City of London Police, who work closely with the Metropolitan Police and the British Transport Police, such as: Project Griffin
The City of London and the metropolitan Police, supported by the Corporation of London are working closely with security personnel across the capital to promote this counter terrorism initiative. We have been evolved with this project from the outset and currently have security officers trained from several of our City sites including Lloyd's Register, Globe House, Moor House and CityPoint. Our aim is to have one or more officers per shift per building trained in their procedures.
Project Argus
This project highlights the importance of businesses being prepared by having the necessary plans in place to help safeguard staff, customers and company assets. It also emphasises the need to practice those plans regularly. Project ARGUS is a key part of the polices’ overall aim to reduce the risk from terrorism, so that people can go about their businesses.
Pager Alert Scheme
The pager alert scheme provided Ultimate with urgent information about terrorist activity and suspected terrorist devises, not just in the City, but across London.
The scheme is based around the very latest in radio paging technology and allows the Police to broadcast to Ultimate in an instant with vital information. We have two pagers in use, one based at CityPoint and one based at Lloyd's Register. E-mail/Text Messaging Scheme
The Senior Management of Ultimate Security also receive up-to-date text messages from the City of London Police who have established this method of communication to facilitate information exchanges with members of the City business community.
This compliments the Pager Alert Scheme and this information sharing is available to Ultimate across London linking the Community Safety branch as the conduct for the London forces. We also have several Site Managers who attend the Bishopsgate Crime Prevention Group, another City of London Police initiative, on a regular basis. |
